ReplyDeleteThis book is fabulous and I gave it to my son in law who teaches elementary school for his use in the classroom. He teaches special education grades K-6 and he has found it to be really beneficial with facts and ideas he can use at all levels.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the review Donna, it really is a good teaching resource.

ReplyDeleteAnd Terri, I'm so excited you gave this book to your son! If he'd like to have his class send me some questions they'd like me to answer, I could post his school on my website for my 50 NIFTY STATES VIRTUAL BOOK TOUR where teachers from every state or celebrating Black History from coast to coast! My 11yr old daughter would be interested in this group. She's been reading a bunch of historical non-fiction lately for school reports.
ReplyDeleteI've read this book, and even though I really should donate it to our school, I love it too much to let it go.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for your kind words! The people in this book have truly become my heroes and the way they lived their lives inspires me so much. My hope is that this book will inspire kids and educators and parents alike, too! Thanks again, Donna, for posting this review.-Nancy
